Tattoo Aftercare
You will need:
Unscented liquid soap/dish soap
Unscented hand lotion or tattoo goo
Paper towel
ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING YOUR TATTOO!!
LEAVE the wrap on for at least 3 hours, but no more than 12 hours.
When your tattoo has stopped weeping/bleeding…
TAKE OFF the wrap
WASH your tattoo with unscented liquid soap and water.
PAT DRY your tattoo with paper towel and keep it completely DRY for 3-4 days. This means NO WATER, NO SWEAT, and NO LOTION on the area.
After the dry period…
APPLY unscented lotion or tattoo goo SPARINGLY 1-2 times per day.
SHOWER again.. (you probably stink!😂)
DO NOT USE VASELINE OR POLYSPORIN OINTMENT!
NO RUBBING, picking or scratching your new tattoo, you will damage it! You may slap it if it becomes itchy.
NO TIGHT CLOTHING it may irritate your tattoo or cause loss of ink.
NO SWIMMING or bathing until the tattoo is completely healed. (4-6 weeks)
NO SUN, tattoos are most sensitive to fading in the first 6 months… especially colour! After 3 weeks you may use SPF30 sunblock to protect your tattoo when outside or tanning.
ALWAYS WEAR SUNBLOCK AND REAPPLY OFTEN!!
WHAT IS NORMAL… weeping, itching, slight redness, bruising, peeling, and scabbing.
WHAT IS NOT… excessive redness or swelling, severe itching, pus at the tattoo site, or a fever.
If you experience any of these symptoms, please contact the shop or a healthcare provider IMMEDIATELY!
Please allow at least 6 weeks of healing before scheduling any touch-ups, as your tattoo may not have fully healed until then.
Failure to follow these aftercare instructions will probably result in a poorly healed tattoo. Touch-ups are a courtesy. If you ignore these instructions, you may be charged for the touch-up.
